Mississippi Approves Burn Center- No FundingLegislators approved creating a burn center, but they didn't allocate money for the fiscal year that starts July 1. Hospital officials said they wouldn't be able to build such a facility if they weren't provided additional funds. The state's only burn center closed in 2005 and burn patients must travel to Tennessee and other states for treatment. The House decided Friday to back off the push to fund the burn center this year and vowed to take the matter up in 2008.
